I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from The Evergreen State College, where I studied psychology, social psychology, education, gender studies, and social and racial justice. I have lived in Olympia since 2008 and I grew up just outside of Boston, Massachusetts.
My supervision is provided by Dr. Matt Goldenberg, Psy.D., LMHC ( http://rainbowhealthcenter.com/user/mattgoldenberg/ ) and Teresa Guajardo, MA, LMHC ( http://rainbowhealthcenter.com/user/teresa/ ) while I finish the final stretch of my MA Psychology, Counseling Specialization program at LIOS/Saybrook University in Seattle.
I see children, adolescents, adults, families, and relationships facing a wide variety of life challenges. My therapeutic training and approach draw on family systems, anti-oppression, existential, attachment, and developmental theories and are influenced by a range of research in the social sciences. Previously I worked as a child and family therapist at a community mental health agency and in elementary schools as a school counselor. I have also worked with survivors of controlling relationships and groups (such as cults) and their families.
My areas of specialization are:
-Anti-Oppression & Self-Care Work
-Cults, Recovery from Controlling/Undue Influence Relationships and Groups
If you do not see your specific area of concern included in the list above, I would still be delighted to explore with you whether or not we are a good fit to work together.
I am a certified trainer of Dr. Leticia Nieto’s Beyond Inclusion, Beyond Empowerment developmental anti-oppression skills framework and I consider life-long social justice/liberation work to be integral to my personal, social, and professional life.
My fee is $65 and I offer a sliding scale. I do not accept insurance at this time.
