An Olympia transplant, I've been in the Pacific Northwest since 2003. I took my first job volunteering at Fenway Health Center on a teen peer listening line when I was in high school which is where I discovered my passion for human services. I was blessed with some incredible GLBT adult mentors who encouraged me to pursue school, and overcome some serious challenges in completing my degree. At present, I am happily married and raising two children. In addition to my practice, I co-own a training, consultation, and educational organization dedicated to increasing the quality of life for transgender people. 2003- Bachelors of Science in Human Services, Lesley University
2008- MA of Arts in Psychology, Existential-Phenemenological Approach, Seattle University
2013- Doctorate of Clinical Psychology, APA Accredited, The Wright Institute
I have received intensive training in psychodynamic theory (framing current experiences as linked to attachment experiences in earlier life) and existentialism (that the meaning we draw from our experiences and our sense of purpose is primary to healing). Specifically, I have focused most of my post graduate training on learning Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I am interested in integrative approaches that put clients first and considers building on existing strengths as the foundation for therapy. In the room, I rely on a transparent, friendly approach and attempt a sense of humor, humility, and non judgmental curiosity when getting to know clients.
I accept a variety of insurances, including Regence, Uniform Medical Plan, First Choice Health Network, Premera, Medicare, Group Health PPO, and Group Health HMO, and Amerigroup. For other plans, I can assist with out of network claims.
