I have a BA in Liberal Arts from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. I have an MA in Counseling Psychology from The California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, CA. I completed my training/practicum providing counseling at Integral Counseling Center where I was trained in Gestalt therapy, while receiving additional supervision with a psychodynamic supervisor, and a holistic supervisor. I worked in teaching, testing and research, then counseling in community mental health at Engender, Inc. in Albuquerque, NM. I worked in community mental health counseling and case management at Seattle Counseling Service in Seattle. I've been in private practice in Olympia since January 2018.
I primarily provide counseling for transgender and all LGBTQIA+ adults, youth, couples, relationships, families. Sometimes people want counseling to explore and integrate their sexuality and gender; sometimes people just want to have therapy with someone they don't have to explain everything to or worry about judgment or discrimination.
I work with people in the public eye, leaders, performers, artists, educators. I provide counseling for People of Color, first generation Americans, people who are recovering from Christianity, neurodiverse, multiples. I work with folks who have experienced harm by mental health and medical professionals and systems, and I work with people to navigate these systems, to self advocate, to figure out how to receive medical or psychiatric care again without retraumatization. I work with people who are both mental health and medical providers and consumers.
I welcome sex positive and kink identified folks for counseling, and I'm not a trained sex therapist. I provide counseling for people who are married, dating, co-parenting, splitting up, divorcing, issues around infidelity. I also provide counseling for people in relationships that are polyamorous or open, are looking to open or to renegotiate relationship agreements.
I work with people around anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life changes, relationship stress, abuse, addiction, work, school, friendships, self love, self esteem, self growth, death, chronic pain and illness. I work with people who feel a yearning, who want meaning or happiness, who long for something more. I work with people who are addicted to substances/behaviors, who are addicts, who are in recovery, who want to stop and also want to not stop, who use harm reduction, and those who are in relationships with these folks.
I work with folks who are psychonauts, meditators, spiritual, healers, psychics, energy workers, plant medicine workers, witches, astral projectors, lucid dreamers, and anyone who has had an experience that is outside of the norm. I strongly support, while not currently offering, expanded access of psychedelic psychotherapy.
I work with activists, First Peoples, people close to the Earth, people impacted by the Earth's global warming, people fearing and mourning, people desiring to be closer to the natural rhythms of life outside and in their bodies.
I work with people wanting to step away from their faith. I work with people who are religious, who love their Creator, who love their religion and beliefs, I work with people who are Atheists and Agnostics. I work with people struggling to find meaning after leaving religion, and people who have lost family, friends, community by leaving.
I could go on.
I am not a specialist: I enjoy working with a wide range of people and life issues within the scopes of my practice and competence.
